IgG constitutes 80% of the body's antibody content. In the case of secondary
immune reactions (repeated contact) the body switches to the production of IgG and is an important antibody in the defence against bacteria and viruses. IgG
is divided into four subclasses: IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4, each having a different
function.
