Who are MediChecks.com Ltd?
MediChecks.com Ltd are a specialist health screening and diagnostic testing company. They provide health checks and blood tests to individuals and businesses throughout the whole of the UK.
Do I need my Doctor's permission to have a blood test or health check?
For the majority of tests you do not need to be referred by your Doctor. However, there are some tests that will require a referral from your Doctor or a specialist Consultant.
Can I order tests on-line?
Yes, once you have chosen the blood test or health check, go to the checkout section and complete the order form and payment form. Alternatively you can telephone MediChecks and they can take your order and payment over the phone.
What will appear on my credit or debit card statement?
The transaction will appear as 'MC Payment' on your statement. Payment is taken by MediChecks.com Ltd and NOT by medi-Labs.com
How will I know my order has been successfully received?
After you have submitted your order you will receive an e-mail order confirmation.
When will I receive my order?
Orders are mostly processed within 1 working day and dispatched by first class post. Please allow 2 working days for your order to arrive.
How will I arrange for my blood to be taken?
Included in the sample kit you are sent will be the contact details of a clinic in your locality. You will need to make a convenient appointment to have the samples taken.
Will I need to pay extra to have my blood samples taken?
The cost of having your blood sample taken is included in the price of every blood test. MediChecks offer a discount if you wish to make you own arrangements for the samples to be taken.
If I arrange for the blood samples to be taken myself, will I still be sent a blood sample collection kit?
Yes. You will be sent a blood kit pre-labelled with all your details.
Will the person taking my blood sample know what tests I am having?
No. All tests are identified by codes.
Do I need to complete any medical forms?
You will need to complete certain sections of a Medical History Form which will be sent with your order. This allows MediChecks to assess your results in context of your medical history, family health history and your current health.
How do I send my samples to the laboratory?
You will be sent all the necessary packaging with your order.
How quickly should the samples be returned to the laboratory?
It is important that the samples are sent to our laboratory as quickly as possible for testing. After your samples have been taken you must mail them to our laboratory using the envelope provided. Due to the unreliability of standard mail, we would strongly advise that you post the blood samples Guaranteed Next Day Delivery ensuring that they arrive at the laboratory the following day.
How quickly will I get my results?
This will depend on the test you have taken. Most results are available 24 hours after arriving at the laboratory but some results will take longer. You will find a guide to how long each test should take on the relevant page of the web site.
How will I get my results?
A MediChecks Medical Advisor will contact you as soon as the results are available (unless you specify otherwise on the Medical History Form). Results and reports may also be sent by email and uploaded on to their secure servers for faster access.
What format will the results take?
MediChecks will provide you with a fully detailed Laboratory report on each test carried out. Any test results that are outside the normal range will be marked with an asterisk (*). For all health screening tests a Lifestyle and Health report, based on your results and Medical History Form, will be enclosed.
What happens if any of my results are abnormal?
Abnormal results will be explained in full and you will be strongly recommend that you consult your Doctor for further advice.
What if I need follow-up tests?
Your sample will be stored for a week at the laboratory. Should you require any further tests, these can possibly be done at a discounted rate on the samples at the laboratory. Alternatively your Doctor may carry out any further tests free of charge.
Will my results be shared with anyone else? / Will my results appear on my official medical records?
No. All information and results are treated with the strictest confidence in line with the highest standards of Medical Ethics and The Data Protection Act. Personal information will never be divulged to any third party (including your Doctor) without your prior written consent.
